HISTORY

The Institute for Social Justice was founded in 1999.  It is a non-profit organization.  It is an organization for professional individuals dedicated to providing expert and professional training and assistance throughout the world to police, law enforcement, corrections, court, and juvenile justice personnel as as community based agencies.

MISSION

The Institute views itself as a catalyst in the prevention of crime and the improvement of professional skills through its education, networking and training components, which assist in providing strategies for dealing with the diversity of ethnic and cultural groups that populate our nations communities.  Through research, training, conferences, and seminars it is our mission to provided a forum which quality of life issues are met.  We connect with colleges and universities to provide a personal educational environment and give CEU credits.

The Institute exists to assist students from colleges and universities in preparing them for the “World of Work.”  Its members give lectures on various topics at special events.  We let them know what jobs are available.  We also allow them to network with other criminal justice professionals from around the nation.  We involve students in global research and work on various projects that will assist them in becoming more knowledgeable about the criminal justice system.

CONFERENCES

The Institute has been involved in conferences throughout the nation in Washington, DC, Atlantic City, New Jersey, Houston, Texas, Chicago, Illinois, Baltimore, Maryland, New Orleans, Louisiana, Miami Florida, Denver, Colorado and others, addressing many of the burning issues in the criminal justice and social science arena.

PURPOSES OF THE TRAINING SEMINARS AND CONFERENCES

Our purpose is to provide an opportunity to hear from educators, psychologists, sociologists, politicians, community, and religious leaders, experts in the field of criminal justice, juvenile justice, substance abuse, and law, to share effective strategies and best practices for lowering the incidence of violence that plague our communities, and to create an environment for information sharing and developing strong collaborative relationships.  Emphasis are on Crime Prevention, Black on Black Crime, Rape, Property Crimes,  Personal Crimes, Youth Crimes, Gangs, Alcohol and Drug Abuse, Sexual Assault, Crimes Prevention Against Violence, and Serial Murders etc.
